I am originally from Atlanta. I lived in Dallas for 5 years, and met my husband there. When we first started dating, I warned him I didn’t want to stay in Dallas much longer. I didn’t know we would end up moving to Louisville, Kentucky in 2016, but I am so glad we did. We have loved every moment in this town (okay, except some of the grey moments from January-March).
I like to flex my creative muscles beyond the screen in my free time. Having a hands-on approach to creating is extremely important to me. Lately. I’ve been sewing a lot and doing other old lady crafts. Working with tangible materials helps my thru and thru on the job. I am big supporter of our local library, but I will likely lie if you ask me what I’m currently reading because it is probably fluffy-nonsense that had a nice looking cover. Or it’s a book about firetrucks that our kid is stuck on.
During the time that I've spent in this industry, I've learned that your clients should be taken seriously, but the work shouldn’t be. Because at the end of the day, we are doing something really fun -- we are selling 🍗. Okay, maybe we aren’t just selling fried chicken, but I have sold a lot of it in my career.
The clients I have worked on have given me experience developing large campaigns, and splashy one-off ideas. I have created social content, tv spots, websites, tradeshow booths, print ads, sososo many banner ads, train wraps, bus wraps, car wraps, menus, POP, B2B, B2C, BS, and birthday cards for my mom. I have experience spending too much money on a project, and experience making something amazing without spending a dollar. I have experience focusing on one client for a year, and experience focusing on multiple clients in a day. I have experience presenting to, collaborating with, and pitching new clients, as well as experience leading teams internally. I have experience working with partnering agencies, vendors, and people from all different disciplines.
I haven’t done it all, but I have had a lot of wonderful opportunities in my career. And that’s where you come in — I am looking for my next opportunity. Maybe it is us working together?
